SALEM, Mass. - On Tuesday, April 28, the Salem State University Athletics Department will participate in Viking Warrior Day, a 1,854-minute giving event that celebrates the impact of philanthropy. Salem Drops Home Finale vs. Westfield; Bennett and Bradley Achieve Career Milestones

SALEM, Mass. - The Salem State women's lacrosse team closed out its home portion of the 2026 season with a 15-4 loss to Westfield State on Friday evening. Despite the loss, Aislinn Bennett (Milford, Mass.) recorded her 100th career goal, and Nora Bradley (Haddon Township, N.J.) notched her 400th save.

Women's Lacrosse Falls to Fitchburg on Senior Day, 13-12

SALEM, Mass. - The Salem State women's lacrosse team dropped a hard-fought Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) matchup with Fitchburg State, 13-12. Before the contest, the Vikings honored their six seniors on senior day. Salem State and the women's lacrosse team would like to thank Aislinn Bennett (Milford, Mass.), Hannah Cochran (Marshfield, Mass.), Deb Jean (Malden, Mass.), Caitlyn O'Connell (Weymouth, Mass.), Samantha Rowe (Peabody, Mass.), and Laura Young (Leominster, Mass.) for their dedication to the Salem State women's lacrosse program throughout their careers!
ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Jake Boucher (Gr., P/INF, Wallingford, Conn.) -- Boucher was named MASCAC Pitcher of the Week after throwing a two-hit shutout in his first career start, retiring 22-of-24 batters with seven strikeouts and no walks in the Vikings’ 7-0 victory over MCLA. He struck out five straight at one point to improve to 3-1 on the year.

Gianna Fowler (Fr., C, East Haven, Conn.) -- Fowler batted .333 (3-for-9) with three home runs, six RBI and three runs scored for Salem State (1-2) this week. The freshman went 3-for-4 with three home runs, six RBI and three runs in a 12-5 victory over MCLA.

Matt Tramonte (Fr., Tewksbury, Mass.) -- Tramonte earned MASCAC Athlete and Rookie of the Week after leading Salem State at the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational at Ballston Spa Country Club, tying for 29th overall with a two-day 147, carding an even par-71 on day one, and a +5, 76 on day two.

Allison Frost (Jr., OF, Auburn, Mass.) -- Frost was named MASCAC Softball Player of the Week after batting .400 (4-10) with two runs, two RBI, four walks and four steals in a 3-1 for the Vikings. Went 1-for-2 with three walks, a run and RBI in a 13-8 win over St. Joe’s. Added two hits in five at-bats with a walk, run and RBI in a doubleheader sweep over Southern Maine.

Ethan Stepputtis (Fr., OF, Prospect, Conn.) -- Stepputtis earned MASCAC Rookie of the Week honors after batting .600 (3-for-5) with two runs, a stolen base and an RBI in the Vikings’ 13-8 win over Westfield State in their lone game of the week.

Alanis Toledano (So., INF/P, Boston, Mass.) -- Toledano was named MASCAC Pitcher of the Week after firing a complete game one-hitter for Salem State, with seven strikeouts and five walks in a 4-0 shutout over Bridgewater State. Also went 4-for-6, batting .667, with a home run, two RBI and a run scored.

Nolan Currier (So., 1B, Maynard, Mass.) -- Currier batted .667 (6-13) with a double, triple, home run and three RBI and four runs scored in a 1-3 week for the Vikings. He was 2-for-3 with a triple and three runs scored in a 10-8 victory over Colby Sawyer. Went 3-for-5 with a home run two RBI and a run scored in a 5-4 extra-innings setback to Bridgewater State.

Gracie Martineau (Jr., P, Westminster, Mass.) -- Martineau was named MASCAC Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 for the Vikings with a 0.50 ERA and .79 whip in two complete games. Allowed a run on six hits with a walk and two strikeouts in a 2-1 win over Mitchell and scattered three hits with a walk and strikeout in a 7-0 shutout over Fitchburg State.

Wilkins was named the Little East Conference Yankee Ford Player of the Week after going 3-1 at the No. 1 positions last week, winning both of his singles matches and going 1-1 in doubles play. He was a 6-0, 6-1 singles winner after teaming with Mark Wood for a 6-1 doubles triumph in the Vikings’ 7-0 season-opening win over Curry before taking down Rhode Island College’s Noah Morin (6-3, 7-5) to open LEC play.

Nolan Currier (So., DH, Maynard, Mass.) -- Currier drove in 13 runs in six games for the Vikings in a 1-5 week, batting .455 (10-22) with a .636 slugging percentage. He also had a double, home run and four runs scored. Had four multi-hit games, including going 3-for-5 with four RBI in a setback to UMass Boston and went 3-for-5 with a double, RBI and two runs scored in a setback to William Paterson. He also had a two-hit game in a win over Knox and was 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and two runs in a one-run defeat to Farmingdale State.

Allison Frost (Jr., OF, Auburn, Mass.) -- Frost batted .393 in 10 games (3-7) for Salem State in Florida, with 12 runs, eight walks and 19 stolen bases, including a school-record seven swipes in an 8-6 win over Ripon. She went 3-for-3 with two hits, two walks and two RBI in a 14-11 win over Trinity and was 2-for-2 with four runs, two walks and six steals in a 10-2 victory over Gallaudet.

Aislinn Bennett (Jr., M, Milford, Mass.) -- Bennett was named MASCAC Defensive Player of the Week after she had a career-high eight caused turnovers and corralled six groundballs to go with three goals and 13 draw controls in the Vikings’ 14-5 victory over Regis.

Jordan Turcotte (Fr., A, Danvers, Mass.) -- Turcotte took home her third straight MASCAC Rookie of the Week award after tying a season-high with six goals scored with a groundball and caused turnover in the Vikings’ 14-5 win over Regis

Tara Perryman (Fr., C, San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) -- Perryman went 5-for-5 with a double, four runs and two RBI in a doubleheader sweep of UMaine Presque Isle. She was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI in an 11-0 game one win over the Owls. She followed up with two more hits, two walks and three runs scored in a 9-1 game two victory.

Jordan Turcotte (Fr., A, Danvers, Mass.) -- Turcotte picked up MASCAC Rookie of the Week honors for the second consecutive week after posting seven points with five goals and two assists in a 1-1 week for the Vikings. Scored twice in a 13-7 setback to the University of New England and added three goals on four attempts and a pair of assists in a 16-3 victory over UMaine Farmington.
