Office of Athletic Communications
The Salem State Office of Athletic Communications handles all media requests and public relations initiatives for the Vikings' varsity sports programs. Content for the Salem State Athletics website, www.salemstatevikings.com, as well as all social media channels on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube, is created by the athletics communications staff. Pre- and post-game releases, in-game statistics, feature stories, and the majority of all video content, including webcasts, are designed and managed by the staff. Information is distributed to regional and national media outlets. Team and individual statistics are recorded, compiled, and reported to Salem State's conference affiliations and the NCAA.

Media Policies
Logo Usage: Per the university's branding guidelines, the athletics logo(s) should be used exclusively to represent the athletic department or individual athletic teams. The athletic logos may not be redesigned or altered in the relationship, perspective, shape, or configuration of the image or its components.
Media Requests: All interview requests for student-athletes, coaches, and administrators should be sent to James Wouralis, Sports Information Director, at jwouralis@salemstate.edu or 781-771-0227.
Visiting media must also notify a staff member (sport contacts listed above) about securing space in our press boxes before the day of the game/event. Press box space is limited.
Photography and Videography: Fans attending athletics contests at Salem State are invited to take pictures at Vikings sporting events. However, only credentialed members of the media, contracted photographers hired by the University, and other insured photographers are allowed on-field/on-court access. To learn more about this policy, fans can view our media pass policy by clicking HERE.
All other photographers, including parents, friends, family, and Salem State students not involved in the Athletics Communication Photo/Video Program, are asked to shoot from the stands or other spectator areas. Non-media members interested in shooting athletics contests need to apply for a press pass with James Wouralis, Sports Information Director, at jwouralis@salemstate.edu or 781-771-0227.
