 HOW IT HAPPENED:

In a conference matchup between the Salem State Vikings and the Fitchburg State Falcons, it would be the Falcons to come out strong and secure the victory over the Vikings of Salem State 6-1Fitchburg State opened the scoring with three goals in the first period, capitalizing on early opportunities. The Vikings would look to come out strong in the second period trailing the Falcons by 3 goals but it would be the Falcons to add a fourth goal before the Vikings responded with a power-play goal to get on the scoreboard. Zach Dill found the back of the net with a strong finish on the man advantage, assisted by Aren Francis and James Tatro. That would conclude the scoring in the second period with the Vikings heading to the locker room down 6-1 to the Falcons. It would be the Vikings to give it their all in the third period with strong defensive efforts and steady goaltending from both sides, with the Falcons goalie not allowing the Vikings to score another goal and with that there would be no additional scoring to close out the game.
