O'Donoghue Scores 100th Career Point in Salem State's 5-3 win over Westfield State
SALEM, Mass. -- Keagan O'Donoghue (Frisco, Texas) recorded his 100th career point as Salem State held off Westfield State for the second time this season, registering a 5-3 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) win over the Owls on "Senior Night" at Rockett Arena. The Vikings move their record to 16-6 and 12-4 in conference while the Owls slide to 11-12 and 7-9 in the MASCAC.
O'Donoghue reached the milestone with an empty-netter with :14 seconds remaining, clinching the win for Salem State, which was holding on to a one-goal lead late. The grad-student is the first Viking to reach the 100-point plateau since transfer Giancarlo Capodanno in 2011. Current head coach Chris MacInnis is the last four-year Salem State player to score at least 100 points, eclipsing the mark in 2009.
Salem State honored seniors Luke Day (Ottsville, Pa.), Peyton Hughes (Northridge, Calif.), Rais Francis (Nottingham, United Kingdom) and Skylar Miller (Chandler, Ariz.) in a pre-game ceremony for their commitment and dedication to the men's ice hockey program.

- However, James Tatro (Salisbury, Mass.) added a power play goal to regain a three-goal advantage for the Vikings later in the second.
- Daniel Finegan (Chicago, Ill.) found Brett Williams (Easton, Mass.) alone in the left faceoff circle, who scored the Owls' second goal of the game, cutting the deficit to 4-2 two minutes into the third.
- Emile Pichette (Saint-Eustache, Quebec ) set up Christopher Miraldo (Montreal, Quebec) for a breakaway goal on a four-on-four as Westfield State drew to within one at 4-3 with just over 10 minutes remaining.
- The Owls pressured the Vikings over the final minutes, but O'Donoghue, iced the game with his milestone goal as Salem State prevailed for a 5-3 win.
