Plymouth State Slips By Salem State

PLYMOUTH, N.H. --  Plymouth State used three different goal scorers to earn a 3-2 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) victory over Salem State on Thursday evening at Hanaway Rink. The Panthers move to 14-5 and 11-1 in conference while the Vikings go to 11-6 and 7-4 in the league. 

How it Happened:

  • Andrew Stuckless opened the scoring just 2:10 into the first period.
  • Jon Waselko evened the game at 1-1 for Salem State with his third goal of the season.
  • Plymouth State added a late goal by Brendan Doyle in the second to take a 2-1 lead into the third. 
  • Will Redick made it 3-1 in favor of the Panthers 2:30 into the third.
  • However, Landyn Greatorex got one back for the Vikings just :41 seconds later to cut the deficit to just one goal.
  • The Vikings pulled goalie Will Nepveu at 18:17 of the third, but managed only one scoring chance. 

Inside the Numbers: 

  • Brandon Shantz recorded the win for Plymouth State making 29 saves. 
  • Will Nepveu stopped 37 shots for Salem State.
  • The Panthers won 43-of-62 faceoffs.  
  • Salem State is 0-9-2 in their last 11 trips to Plymouth State.
