Bio
David Starin was named head coach of the Salem State volleyball program in 2025. Starin spent three seasons as head coach at Colby-Sawyer, leading the team to a 21-12 record in 2024 and a 15-1 home record, which set a new school record for most home wins. The Chargers qualified for post-season play during Starin's final two seasons and were top-15 in the nation in aces and hitting percentage against.
Previously, Starin coached at Bedford High School, compiling a 41-3 record in his three-years with the program. He also currently serves as head coach for Hard Rock Volleyball, helping capture 27 NERVA / New England Region tournaments.
Starin began his collegiate coaching career with stints as an assistant coach at SUNY Plattsburgh in 2013-14 and Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2012-2013. He also served as head coach of the Londonderry High School boys and girls teams where he was named as the 2009 coach of the year.
Starin received his bachelor's degree in marketing management in 2006 from Siena College and his master's degree in finance at Southern New Hampshire University in 2012.
