Henke Named to MASCAC All-Conference First Team
SALEM, Mass. - The Salem State women's soccer team saw Olivia Henke (Bay Shore, N.Y.) garner MASCAC All-Conference First Team honors as announced by the conference on Wednesday.
Henke was a solid force on the Salem defense this year, as the junior started in all 17 games she played. She helped the Salem defense rank within the top five of numerous defensive categories, including goals against average (1.04-third), goals allowed (19-third), and shutouts (nine-second). Overall for the year, Henke set a new career-high in shots (16) while also chipping in one goal. Her lone score came in a 4-0 win over Mass. Maritime (Sept. 6).
On the year, Salem finished with an 8-7-3 record and a 4-4-0 record in conference play. Last time the Vikings ended the year with eight wins was back in 2019, when that team went 8-8-2. Salem's offense was one of the more high-powered in the conference as the team finished within the top five in numerous offensive categories, including goals (21-fifth), goals per game (1.17-fifth), points (51-fifth), shots (243-fifth), and shots per game (13.5-fifth). Salem also saw 10 different student-athletes score a goal this year.
