Vikings Fall on Road in Non-Conference Play

DUDLEY, Mass. – Salem State women's soccer traveled to Dudley, Massachusetts this afternoon for a non-conference matchup against the Bison of Nichols College. Falyn Hunt (Saugus, Mass.) would find the back of the net twice to secure the Bison's 2-0 victory over the Vikings.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Hunt scored the game's first goal in the 13^th minute after her teammate's pass set her up for the low corner tally.
• After having a pair of shots turned away by the Bison's goalie, the Vikings found themselves trailing 1-0 at the break.
• Ava Guyer (East Granby, Conn.) would deny five shots to start the second half before Hunt netted her second goal of the game to give the Bison the 2-0 tilt.
• Two goals would prove to be enough as Nichols would hold Salem to just one shot in the closing half of the second to take the 2-0 victory over the Vikings.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Ava Guyer made a career-high 12 saves on the afternoon, which is a season-high for the sophomore.

The Vikings are back at home this Saturday, September 14^th  when they welcome another Conference of New England foe, Wentworth Institute of Technology, for a 12 p.m. kickoff.
