HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Vikings and Falcons opened the game with a fast-paced and competitive first period, but it was the Falcons that would score first. The Falcons capitalized on their early momentum, scoring twice in the opening frame to take a 2–0 lead. Despite sustained pressure and several quality chances from the Vikings, the Falcons' goaltender held strong. At the other end, Vikings goaltender Delaney Cox made key saves to keep the game within reach heading into the second period.

The Vikings would come out with renewed energy in the second period, pressing offensively and generating consistent pressure in the Falcons' zone. Their efforts would pay off on the power play, as Olivia Tednes found the back of the net to cut the deficit to 2–1 and bring the Vikings back within one against the Falcons. Delaney Cox would remain sharp in net, turning aside Falcons offensive chances to keep it a one-goal game as both teams headed into the third period.

The third period featured back-and-forth action as the Vikings pushed to find the equalizer. However, the Falcons would get a power-play opportunity, and would score their third goal of the game to restore their two-goal lead. The Vikings would continue to battle and create offensive opportunities and pressure , but were unable to get a second goal past the Falcons' goaltender, ultimately falling 3–1 in a non-conference matchup against the Falcons of Albertus Magnus.
