Cadets Blank Vikings

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Neris Archambault and Jenna Nikles each posted three points apiece as Norwich blanked Salem State, 8-0 at Kreitzberg Arena in a NEHC game on Saturday to sweep the two-game series. Archambault compiled three assists while Nikles had a goal and a pair of assists as the Cadets improve to 15-7 on the year and 12-1 in conference while the Vikings slide to 6-17 and 2-12.

How it Happened:

  • Rylie McIntyre started the scoring at 9:19 as Norwich erupted for five first period goals.
  • Anna Lisac added another score :22 seconds later making it a two-goal game.
  • Grace McCluskey and Taylor Girouard added back-to-back scores before Nikles netted the fifth unanswered goal with less than :25 second left in the period. 
  • Breanna Ricker and Julia Richardson accounted for both scores in the second period, pushing the lead to 7-0.
  • Livia Brooks's goal made it 8-0 at 18:17 of the final period.

Inside the Numbers:

  • Payton Sutherland (1-0) earned the shutout making six saves. 
  • Starter Delaney Cox (3-14) and Samantha Jaworski combined for 32 saves. 
  • Girouard, Brooks and Ricker all had a goal and assist for the Cadets.
