UMass Boston Triumphs 6-3 Over Salem State
SALEM, Mass. -- UMass Boston defeated Salem State on Senior Day at The Central Campus Tennis Courts, earning a 6-3 Little East Conference win over the Vikings. The Beacons even their record at 5-5 and go to 3-1 in the LEC. Salem State is now 2-4 and 1-4 in conference.
The Vikings honored seniors Kevin Merino-Rivas (Billerica, Mass.) and Josh Gruber (Townsend, Mass.) in a pre-match ceremony for their dedication and commitment to the Salem State tennis program.
Quentin Wilkins kept his unbeaten streak alive, winning 7-6, 6-2 over Dominik Dwyer at No. 1 singles as UMass Boston took the remaining five singles matches.
Wilkins \ Wood prevailed 8-5 over Dwyer \ Dominik Dwyer and Kevin Merino-Rivas \ Lachlan Hall picked up an 8-4 victory at No. 2 singles against Maxwell Dill \ Shrenith Rakshana for the Vikings other two points.
