SALEM, Mass. – Salem State did not lose a set as the Vikings picked up a 9-0 victory over Castleton in a Little East tennis match on Saturday. Salem State improves to 6-4 and 4-1 in the Little East. The Spartans slip to 2-9 and remain winless in the Little East at 0-4.
Andew Muttiah (Colombo, Sri Lanka) picked up his sixth win at first singles, defeating Igor Almeida 7-5, 6-1. Roni Bazile (Brockton, Mass.) won his team-leading seventh singles match with a 6-2, 6-0 win at second singles over Jared Wheeler. Chen Chen (Lawrence, Mass.) did not allow a point at third singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Nathan Hinson. Mitchell Dyer (N. Attleboro, Mass.), Noah Hodgkins (Winthrop, Mass.) and Johnson Ngandjui (Lynn, Mass.) completed the sweep with wins at third through sixth singles.
Muttiah / Chen won 8-3 at first doubles over Almeida / Wheeler. Dyer / Bazile won 8-1 at second doubles while Hodgkins / Moses Ba (Lynn, Mass.) picked up an 8-5 victory at third doubles.
