De Sousa-Vieira Earns Second MASCAC Offensive Player of the Week Award
SALEM, Mass. - Graduate forward Iago De Sousa-Vieira (Medford, Mass.) was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference earlier today. Tuesday's award marks the second time this season he has received the weekly honor from the MASCAC.
De Sousa-Vieira helped the Vikings earn ties in matchups last week versus Clark and Bridgewater State. In the contest against Clark, his goal gave the Vikings an early 1-0 advantage in the match. Last Saturday, in a 3-3 tie versus Bridgewater State, De Sousa-Vieira netted his first career hat trick for his seventh, eighth, and ninth goals of the season. His nine scores are a new career-high for the graduate, surpassing his previous best of six set while at Stonehill College in 2021.
De Sousa-Vieira and the squad are back in action on Wednesday, October 15, when the Blue and Orange host WPI at 4:00 p.m.
