Greatorex Named  Sid Watson Award Finalist

SALEM, Mass. -- Junior men's ice hockey player Landyn Greatorex (Reading, Mass.) was announced as a finalist for the 2024-25 Sid Watson Award, given annually to the best NCAA Division II-III men's ice hockey player in the country. Greatorex, the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year, led the MASCAC in points and was fourth overall in the NCAA with 41, tallying 16 goals and 25 assists. He was one of the conference leaders with six power play goals while collecting a +20 rating. 

Twelve players were selected, with nine of the finalists from the United States and three from Canada. One is a graduate student, three are seniors, five are juniors, two are sophomores and one is a freshmen. Ten are forwards and there is one goaltender and one defenseman.

Sponsored by the American Hockey Coaches Association, the Sid Watson Award honors the memory of former Bowdoin College head coach and athletic director Sid Watson. A three-time AHCA Coach of the Year, Watson served Bowdoin for more than 30 years, winning 326 games in 24 seasons as head coach. The recipient of this year's Sid Watson Award will be announced during this year's NCAA Division III Ice Hockey Frozen Four later in the month.
