Athlete Spotlight: Zach Dill

Athlete Spotlight: Zach Dill

SALEM, Mass. -- This week's athlete spotlight features junior forward Zach Dill (Lake Tahoe, Calif.), who recently earned MASCAC Player of the Week honors, after scoring a goal to go with two assists, which included setting up the game-winner, in Salem State's 4-3 overtime victory over #10 Endicott on December 11.

Can you talk about your performance that led to your player of the week award?

Nothing crazy. We got a big overtime win on Saturday against UMass Dartmouth and then we just took that momentum into Tuesday. Even though it was an out of conference game, they are right down the street so we had something to prove.

Are there any short-term goals you'd like to accomplish this season?

None personally, but as a team I think it would be great to climb the standings and get a home playoff game this year.

Which strengths do you believe you have that make you a great athlete?

Leadership. Hard working. Never give up

Is there a coach/athlete or someone outside of sports that you look up to as a role model?

My brother or Michael Jordan - 23.

What's the best piece of advice you've gained from your coaches?

Live in the moment.

How would your coaches and teammates describe you?

Hardworking and someone that does the little things right.

Is there an interesting fact that most people don't know about you?

I broke both my legs when I was 5.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of sports?

I'm from a big ski town so skiing, but the lake is great in the winter so boating and tennis and golf.
