Men's Golf Earns Top 10 Finish at Bowdoin Invitational

THE LEAD – The Salem State University men's golf team wrapped up its time in Maine at the Bowdoin Invitational with ninth place by posting a total team score of 618. Overall, on the final day, the squad scored 301.
SALEM STATE HIGHLIGHTS
- Matt Tramonte (Tewksbury, Mass.) led the Vikings on the final day by earning a seventh-place finish, finishing an even 72 in the final round and a +2 overall. On the second day, Tramonte posted three birdies for Salem.
- Anthony Choukas (Weymouth, Mass.) capped off the top-50 for Salem by carding a 73 (+1) on the final day, which was good for 34th. On his final day at the Bowdoin Invitational, Choukas also recorded three birdies. Further down the leaderboard was Joe Orlando (Gloucester, Mass.), who came in 51st with a final round of 73 (+1) and finished the tournament at +13.
- Rounding out the leaderboard for the Vikings, Michael Murphy (Orlando, Fla.) came in 72nd place at +27 with a final round score of 80 (+18). Meanwhile, Patrick Cotter (Melrose, Mass.) ended the Invitational in 63rd place at +16 with a final round score of 81 (+9).
OTHER RESULTS
- Amherst won the tournament overall with a score of 593, followed by Williams College in second place. Rounding out the top five were Tufts, Bowdoin, and Drew.

- Salem will have some much-deserved time off before returning to action on Saturday, October 11, at the Skidmore Invitational in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
