Men's Golf Competes at Day One of Duke Nelson Invitational

THE LEAD – The Salem State University Men's Golf team returned to action as the squad posted a 315 (+31) in the first round of the Duke Nelson Invitational Saturday afternoon.
SALEM STATE HIGHLIGHTS
- Matt Tramonte (Tewksbury, Mass.) led the way for the Vikings with a top-five finish, coming in a tie for fifth at 73(+2).
- Joe Orlando (Gloucester, Mass.) rounded out the top-50 for the Vikings with a 46th place finish at 78 )+7).
- Further down the leaderboard, Anthony Choukas (Weymouth, Mass.) came in at 80 (+9) for a tie for 67th place. Rounding out the remaining golfers for Salem State are Michael Murphy (Orlando, Fla.) at 84 (+13) and Trevor Thompson (Los Angeles, Calif.) at 86 (+15), which are good for a tie for 86th and a tie for 96th place, respectively.
OTHER RESULTS
- Overall, Babson leads all schools with a 296 (+12) followed by Amherst at 297 (+13). Rounding out the top-five are Trinity at 297 (+19), Hartford at 304 (+20) and St. Lawrence and Bowdoin who are tied for fifth at 305 (+21).
- Jack Berry of Babson leads all golfers overall with a score of 68 (-3).
